LEAD GUITAR / STEVE MILLER

The Guitar Man has been pickin' and grinnin' since the shy age of 11 years old. With a love of anything vintage, his guitar style betrays his influences of Buckaroo Don Rich, Danny Gatton, Commander Cody's Bill Kirchen, the two Merles (Travis and Haggard), Redd Volkaert, John Jorgenson, Albert Lee, Eldon Shamblin, and the list goes on. If it's twangy or it swings, he'll try to play it . . . and rumor has it he'll even go so far as to play steel guitar instrumentals and fiddle solos on his 6-string when it's time to really get western. It ain't always pretty, but it's always a Ride!

Steve founded Remington's Ride in 2013 along with Dangerous Dutch Baker, another veteran musician with a passion for old cowboy music and too much time on his hands.

THE STICKS / DANIEL "DUTCH" BAKER

Dangerous Dutch Baker was born into great music. His family owned Baker Music in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin from the mid 1960's into the 70's. The youngest of four boys, his turn to join the family band came at 13 playing night clubs, weddings, and festivals. Not surprisingly, his greatest musical influence was his father, who exposed him to anything from American standards to jazz, blues, and of course vintage western swing and roots country. After a brief siesta to raise a family of his own, the music called once again. When Dutch showed up at a jam on his Harley with Commander Cody blaring loud enough for the south side of Lomira to hear, there was no question who the sticks man for the Ride was gonna be. We think he's the best drummer in the whole band.

RHYTHM GUITAR / ANGELA ROLTGEN

Angie was surrounded by music ever since she was a young cowgirl, where she grew up listening to her dad playing in different bands and venues throughout Wisconsin. You’ll sometimes catch her singing backup with his current western swing and cowboy show, KG and the Ranger. Angie has been pickin’ and singin’ over the past 30 years in different groups covering bluegrass to folk to gypsy swing. A highlight of her musical journey was performing on WPR’s “Simply Folk” with her duo the Molly Maguires. Now that she’s groovin’ with The Ride, she’s bringing some amazing backup vocals and rhythm guitar, but coolest of all you’ll catch her covering some of her favorites from Patsy Cline and Alison Kraus to Emmylou Harris along with a big ol’ heap of classic western swing classics.

BASS/JASON KLOSS

Jason's love of music started at an early age as he grew up in the 80s listening to the Outlaw music favored by his Dad. By the time he was 3, he was humming and singing along to Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. When the Highwaymen released their first album in 1985, he insisted on a ride to the record store to buy it, and immediately began thinking about playing the guitar. At the age of 14, his parents finally relented and bought him an acoustic guitar. After teaching himself the basics, Jason joined his high school jazz band where somewhere along the way, he started gravitating toward bass guitar for a jazz ensemble.  He continued to play bass through college and with bands he hooked up with along the way. In 2017, he bought his first upright bass with the intent of going full on Rockabilly.  By 2019, he was playing doghouse bass and supplying backing vocals in the band God's Outlaw, with whom he continues to perform today. Jason also performs a solo show as a guitarist and singer. With his years of experience and diverse background playing jazz, country, and rock 'n roll, Jason is exited to lay down some serious rhythm with The Ride.

STEEL GUITAR/JORY SIMMONS

Jory Simmons grew up in Chicago playing bass and guitar throughout the 1960s. He played his first show at the age of 13, with an electric guitar he built in his 8th grade wood shop class. By the mid 1970s he had discovered country music and the steel guitar. Jory has made a full time career out of country music, playing 5-6 nights per week in the hey day of the classic honky tonks, and has toured extensively throughout the US with various acts. Jory settled in Wisconsin in 1990 and is a 3-time WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) award winner. Jory has played many different styles of country music, but his love for classic dance hall honky tonk and western swing brought him to the Ride.

FIDDLE/AL “THE COLONEL” SANDERS

Another WAMI award winner, Al “The Colonel” Sanders cut his teeth singing harmonies in school and in church. After starting guitar lessons at Morgan Brothers Music in Ripon, Wisconsin, Al discovered bluegrass and the fiddle. Largely self-taught, Al admits at least two of his dogs up and left him in his early days of trying to find the notes on a fiddle. Since then, Al has played in some of Wisonsin’s hottest country bands and opened for big name acts. After a long hiatus from the music scene, Al felt the Western Swing and Honky Tonk sounds of the Ride calling and has been headlining with the band ever since.
